Gordon Hub Lead Coordinator(s)
Overview
Two volunteers are needed to act as Gordon Hub Lead Coordinators. The roles will co-lead and coordinate activities at Nicolette’s “refreshed” Gordon Community Hub. Best suited to TeamNic volunteers who enjoy interacting with the community through the prospect of a physical space facilitating volunteer and community connection.
Please note: Whilst the Gordon Hub Lead Coordinator roles are envisioned to be two roles that co-share responsibilities, the roles can be adapted for the right candidate(s) to more or fewer roles.
Context
Nicolette’s Gordon Hub is being re-launched as a community-facing office (not to be confused with an electorate office or the work of a constituent liaison). The new Gordon Hub will allow:
(1) TeamNic volunteers to use the space frequently and more freely
(2) Community groups to meet (specifically groups aligned to the values of Nicolette Boele and TeamNic)
(3) Bradfield residents to have a helping hand with their inquiries in a manner that complements the work of the EO but never replaces or acts as a substitute for a constituent liaison (i.e., more of a “This is how you get in touch with your MP’s office” approach)
Key responsibilities
● Schedule volunteers to a set roster (three days a week, three to four hours per shift)
● Communicate to community groups the protocol for meeting at the Gordon Hub (i.e., must be a TeamNic volunteer to sign in a community group)
● Schedule bookings into the general Gordon Hub calendar
● Record key issues reported to volunteers from members of the public to gain a map of what matters to Bradfield. Report findings to electorate office staff
● Train volunteers to handle inquiries from the public and understand safety protocols
Skills and attributes
● Passionate about facilitating and supporting community and volunteer connections
● Organisational abilities
● Communication (training and development skills)
● Calm under pressure
● Interpersonal skills (volunteer management)
● Data entry and reporting to keep EO informed
Time requirement
Flexible/ variable: Initially, the commitment likely requires approximately three or four half-days as the Gordon Hub develops a system of recruiting and supporting volunteers to facilitate the Hub’s opening to the broader community. If preferable to the successful candidate, the intention is that the demands of the role will ease as the Gordon Hub gains more TeamNic supporters to assist in its running and functioning. Open to discussion with the right candidate(s).
